10 Rock Albums That Peak With The First Song

4. Led Zeppelin III - Led Zeppelin

Another song that starts with somebody's variation on "AHHHHH!", everyone and their mothers could hum the opening riff to Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin in their sleep.

Robert Plant comes to us in Viking form on this song, talking about sailing the seas in search of adventure and to conquer new lands. If they're bringing bangers like this with them, then we say let them conquer to their hearts' content!

The song is the curtain raiser on the band's third title, which was called... uh... Led Zeppelin III. They wouldn't get creative with album titles for another three years or so.

It's home to other hard-hitters like Celebration Day and the folky That's The Way, but come on, are those even in the same conversation as Immigrant Song? Do they have someone going "AHHHHH!" on them?

Didn't think so.

Of the ten songs on Led Zep III, this is the only one that would be considered an essential track. It was also the only one released as a single at the time, which shows that even the band knew this was the best they had.
