10 Rock Albums That Were Stuck In Development Hell
8. Let The Bad Times Roll - The Offspring
You see, the expression is usually "Let the Good Times Roll", but The Offspring changed it to "Let the Bad Times Roll."
Honestly, how do these musicians do it?
Those Pretty Fly (White Guys) put out this highly intelligently named album in 2021, almost a decade after their last release.
This wasn't because the band had taken time off to find themselves or anything; it was because the universe was seemingly doing everything in its power to stop this record from coming out.
The band first went into the studio to record material for this album in 2013, but a heavy tour schedule slowed down progress. Also, they were in the process of leaving Columbia Records, the label they had been with since 1996.
By late 2015, they only had two or three songs ready to go and it wouldn't be until 2019 that the group confirmed that everything was done.
Well, 98% done. It took them another two years to finish up that last two percent.
Throw in a pandemic and the final release date for Let the Bad Times Roll was the 16th of April 2021.
Still, it was all worth it to read that title.
Genius.
