10 Rock Artists That Had Hit Albums Over A Decade Apart
3. Steely Dan - 20 Years
Everyone's hipster dad's favourite band, Steely Dan have had a resurgence in popularity in recent years as new fans have discovered their tantalising blend of rock, country, jazz, and jam music.
Walter Becker, Donald Fagan, and their many friends were primarily a studio band during their first run, putting out seven albums between 1972 and 1980.
The last of those records, Gaucho, reached the US number nine spot. It was recorded under very strained circumstances, including the death of Becker's girlfriend and a lawsuit.
After it was released, the band took some time away from each other that turned into a full two decades away from the Steely Dan name.
Becker and Fagan weren't lazy during this period, as they both released several solo albums, but for a while it seemed like the Steely Dan days were gone for good.
That all changed in the year 2000.
After getting back together in 1993, The Dan released Two Against Nature, their first studio album in 20 years.
People had clearly missed them, as it reached number six in the charts and earned itself a platinum record in the process.
