10 Rock Artists Who Got Banned From Certain Countries

8. Fred Durst - Ukraine

When he's not threatening to cut people with chainsaws or buying up red hats by the hundreds, Fred Durst can be found causing controversy in one form or another.

Usually his feuds are with fellow musicians, but one time he got into it with the entire nation of Ukraine.

From 2012 to 2018, the singer was actually married to a Ukrainian woman. Before you start thinking that this would have made it easy for him to get into the country, just read what he wrote about Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

In a letter, Durst called Putin "a great guy with clear moral principles and a nice person." As we all know now, this couldn't be more false.

As a result, Ukraine labelled Durst a security risk and barred him from the country for five years. This put a stop to his plans to move to Crimea and set up a film and TV studio there.

Whilst you'd like to think that Freddy D has changed his opinion on Putin in the wake of the atrocities in Ukraine, you can never rule anything out with this guy.
