10 Rock Artists Who Have Released A Ridiculous Number Of Albums

8. Paul McCartney - 26

Though not nearly on the same level as King Gizzard, The Beatles were also rabid when it came to releasing albums.

From 1962 to 1970, the Fab Four had 12 different albums released in the UK and 17 in the US. Don't ask why these numbers are different, because literally nobody knows.

After the band went their separate ways, Paul McCartney took this industrious spirit with him and dominated the 1970s with new material of his own.

As a solo performer, alongside his wife Linda, and as the frontman of Wings, Macca fired off nine different albums before the calendars changed to 1980.

Since the breakup of Wings, he's continued to release records fairly regularly. McCartney III from 2020 is his most recent studio album, bringing his total up to a whopping 26.

This discounts the seven classical albums he's released, the nine live albums, the five electronica albums, and the various special editions and re-issues that have also come our way.

As he's now in his 80s, perhaps McCartney will finally slow down and take it easy.

Or maybe he'll keep putting out great music until he's 105.

Fingers crossed.
