10 Rock Bands That Had More Than One Lead Singer
5. Oasis
There was pretty much no way of escaping Oasis if you grew up in the mid '90s. As the afterglow of grunge came and went, these Mancunian hopefuls became one of the biggest bands on the planet thanks to the one-two punch of Definitely Maybe and What's the Story Morning Glory?. It would have been good enough to have Liam Gallagher barking out the group's hits, but Noel Gallagher ended up getting in on the action a lot more often than not.
Though Liam's internal swagger is beyond reproach, the soulful tone of Noel's voice offers a much gentler approach to the songs he takes on. Whereas Liam's mix of punk-meets-Beatles works wonders on rockers like Headshrinker or Supersonic, you practically can't hear songs like Don't Look Back In Anger any differently unless they are belted out by Noel every single night.
After coming out of his shell on the second album, Noel quickly became a vocal force all his own, with almost every album growing to a practical even split between the two behind the mic. The Gallaghers were always known as the larger than life personalities of Oasis, so it was only fitting that by the time they broke in 2009, they had both grown accustomed to taking center stage whenever the time called for it.
