10 Rock Bands That Have Two Frontmen

8. The Who

The Who didn't really need a fill-in vocalist when it came time to deliver. Given that Roger Daltrey has risen up the ranks as one of the finest frontmen that rock has to offer, the idea of him being replaced feels more and more like a pipedream going forward. On the other hand, when your song is that close to your chest, it's better if you sing the thing yourself.

Contrary to what people may like to say, Pete Townshend is practically the co-frontman of the group alongside Daltrey, bringing a bit of levity to the constant screams that are happening left and right. As opposed to the muscular tone that Daltrey has, there's almost an innocence in the way Townshend enunciates his words whenever he sings, almost like he's a little child having a turn on the mic. That's not to say he doesn't have his shining moments either, like on the breakdown of Baba O'Riley or playing the role of Tommy on tracks like Christmas.

Hell, even the Ox John Entwistle found himself fronting the group from time to time, going so far as to have solo songs all his own become fan favorites like My Wife and Whiskey Man. Even when the dynamics of a group seem cut and dry, the round robin process of the Who is something that is so much more rare nowadays.
