10 Rock Bands That Released 2 Masterpiece Albums In A Row
8. Oasis
By the midpoint of the '90s, we were definitely at a turning point in the world of rock music. The entire grunge enterprise seemed to be collapsing in on itself, and it wasn't clear whether the pop punk sound was going to take its place or anything. Across the pond though, two brothers managed to call their shot and become one of the biggest rock bands that the '90s had ever seen.
From the first single Supersonic onward, Oasis were on an upward curve, with songs that had a much more optimistic attitude than what we had gotten used to with grunge for the past few years. Almost solidifying itself as one of the most important records of the '90s overnight, the band didn't have time to waste, going back into the studio with Owen Morris to craft something even bigger.
Though Noel Gallagher may not have known it at the time, the 12 working days spent at Rockfield Studios captured absolute magic on (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, with everyone at the top of their game. And while Wonderwall may get the title as most insufferable song at open mic night to this day, Don't Look Back In Anger captures a certain lust for life that no one has really seen before or since. Capping it all off with a legendary performance at Knebworth, this was the one moment where it felt like the crazy times of the '60s had actually come back for a little while.
