10 Rock Bands Who Broke World Records

4. Black Diamonds - Youngest Rock Band

How many of you were in bands when you were teenagers? Maybe some of you got together as young kids and pretended to write songs in your bedrooms? Well, here's an act that blows all of those childish fantasies out of the water.

Black Diamonds are a rock band from Haverhill, Massachusetts, not far from Boston. They started back in 2009 and, the following year, released their debut album, which is what landed them a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records.

On that day, the average age of the band's members was 11 years and 130 days, making them, in the eyes of Guinness, the "Youngest Professional Rock Band" in the world. This record carries the subheading of "Male", but a search of the Guinness website shows no results for the youngest female rock band, which is strange.

Either way, this is a great feat for Black Diamonds to hang their hats on, although it doesn't seem to have aided them all that much. Their Soundcloud page has been inactive for five years, with their last major release seemingly an EP from 2016.

Perhaps they peaked too early.
