10 Rock Bands Who Only Have One Original Member Left
4. Blink-182
At the start of the '00s, it was virtually impossible to escape the sound of Blink-182. Picking up exactly where bands like Green Day had left off, this power trio from California became the embodiment of adolescence for an entire generation, with songs that were just as fun-loving as they were heartfelt. On the other hand, any chance of having a stable lineup has pretty much fallen by the wayside.
During the group's inception, the original drummer Scott Raynor was just what the group needed. However, going into the album Dude Ranch, it was clear that this kind of frantic drumming wasn't going to cut it when it came to move up to the big leagues. Finding a virtuoso in Travis Barker, Blink also managed to have two frontmen for the price of one in both Tom Delonge and Mark Hoppus. Then again, having two leaders is where ego starts to creep in.
After splitting up in the early '00s due to creative differences, the group reunited in the early 2010's, only to kick Tom out of the group again for his unreliability. Drafting in Matt Skiba from Alkaline Trio, this latest version of Blink only has Hoppus from the original lineup accounted for. Even though the face out front is a bit different, albums like California and Nine have proven that these pop punk titans still have some more gas in the tank.
