10 Rock Bands With Five Or More Number 1 Albums

1. The Beatles - 14

Well, obviously.

If there's a list about chart successes in music, The Beatles are going to be somewhere near the top. However, the Fab Four certainly didn't make it easy for list-writers, as their release history made the Rolling Stones' look simple by comparison.

They have a totally different discography in the US prior to the release of Revolver in 1966, with a bunch of album titles available in America that were never put on sale in Britain.

Not that this mattered, as The Beatles scored a whopping 14 number one studio albums in the States, the most of any musical act ever.

They also scored three number ones in a single calendar year on three separate occasions, which just goes to show how quickly these guys were pumping stuff out at the height of their appeal.

It goes without saying just how popular The Beatles were in the 1960s, and the fact that nobody has come close to toppling them in the decades since makes their achievements even more impressive.

Successful musicians come and go all the time, but there will never be anything quite like The Beatles ever again.
