10 Rock Bands With Five Or More Number 1 Albums
7. Bon Jovi - 6
New Jersey's favourite hair metal band owe their monumental success to three little words; Slippery When Wet.
Their third album from 1986 was more popular than oxygen when it was released, shifting 12 million copies in the States alone and turning the long-haired lads into walking deities.
For contrast, their previous album, 7800° Fahrenheit, only charted at number 37.
Slippery's sequel, New Jersey, also went to number one, but this was to be the group's last visit to the top for 19 years.
After a solid run of top ten finishes, Bon Jovi finally scored their third number one in 2007 with the album Lost Highway. Then came The Circle in 2009, What About Now in 2013, and finally This House is Not For Sale in 2016, which is unfortunately not a concept album about a bad estate agent.
In terms of chart-topping albums, Bon Jovi have been way more successful in the 21st Century than they ever were in the 1980s, which is crazy as that's when many people consider to be their heyday.
These stunning results prove one thing - nostalgia is one hell of a drug.
