If anyone in Creed had to look back on the early part of their career, it would be understandable if they wanted to get out of the music industry altogether.
Even with albums like Human Clay selling like crazy in the States, there was no possible way to see the band surviving once the era of Weathered subsided. Once the band regrouped to form Alter Bridge though, it looked like they had learned their lesson from before.
Hiring new singer Myles Kennedy, this is the real raw band that Creed always wished it could be, with Kennedy's soaring voice staying strong after all these years.
Compared to the more radio friendly music that you would get from songs like My Sacrifice, there's a lot more hard rock to be found in Alter Bridge's catalog, with records like Blackbird and ABIII touching on the metal side of the spectrum more than a few times.
