10 Rock Music Songs That Have Been Played The Most Live
8. Peace Sells - Megadeth (1,751 Times)
Thrash metal band Megadeth was famously formed out of the ashes of guitarist and singer Dave Mustaine's involvement in the early days of Metallica.
Mustaine was a volatile man during those days and got kicked out of the band before their first album was released. He still contributed to some parts of Kill 'Em All, though.
Two years after that album was released, Mustaine's new band Megadeth put out their first studio record. Both groups are now considered among the mythical "Big Four" of the thrash genre.
In 1986, Megadeth released their second album, Peace Sells... but Who's Buying?. If you hadn't worked it out already, this is where their most-played track comes from.
Peace Sells was the second single released from the album, and the band's first to go gold in the US. This might be why they've chosen to play it a staggering 1,751 times during their live shows.
The song got its first outing in December 1985, almost a full year before it was commercially available. This gave it a clear head start over everything else, which is just cheating when you think about it.
