10 Rock Music Songs That You Didn't Know Were About Drugs

4. Geek Stink Breath - Green Day

After coming off of Dookie, Green Day were a lot more jaded about their life as rock stars. Since they were now banned from their hometown club for what they saw as selling out, they were determined to make something a bit more harsh for their next outing. That meant some darker sounds, meaner guitar riffs, and most importantly, some songs about the wonders of crystal meth.

Though Billie Joe wasn't known to partake in crystal meth on a daily basis or anything, Geek Stink Breath was written about a friend of the band who was driving himself insane with his dependency on crystal. This is still a Green Day song though, and if you remove the meth connotations, it has all the tropes here, including feelings of being totally bored and not having anything better to do than to waste away at home and picking scabs off of your face.

And it turns out that the band took the drastic effects of the title pretty seriously. While meth is known to dry your mouth out and lead to bad breath, the video itself was a pretty vivid depiction of it, with most of it revolving around their friend going to the dentist and getting some of the rotted teeth pulled out of his face. Not many songs could be a tribute to crystal meth while also having a video that actively serves as a PSA for what happens if you go overboard.
