10 Rock Musicians With Surprising Day Jobs

2. Brian May (Queen) - Astrophysicist And Scientist

Doesn't it just trigger your envy receptors when someone is insanely gifted at multiple things?

It wasn't enough for May to be in the world changing band Queen, back in the 2000s he elected to return to Imperial College London to complete his PHD in physics, some 30 years after he originally dropped out.

It would be impressive enough to complete a PHD in physics in your late 50s, but May has gone on to co-author two books with astrophysicist Chris Lintott and co-found Astroid Day with former astronaut Rusty Schweickart.

The event aims to bring more awareness to the alarming probability of astroids hitting the earth. The last time a really sizeable object impacted with earth was over 100 years ago. Known as the Tunguska event, the impact occurred in a remote region of Siberia but devastated an area the size of modern day London.

Neil deGrasse Tyson is among those who share May's concern about such events. Although, we as a planet have the technology to do something about future impacts, governments around the world have not implemented any form of preventive measures.

Enter Brian May to save the world...
