10 Rock Singers Who Fronted Two Great Bands

Love him or hate him, the outspoken Corey Taylor has had a very successful career serving as frontman for two big rock/metal acts: Slipknot and Stone Sour.

The masked Slipknot broke onto the scene like a bat out of hell in the late 90s/early 2000s, particularly with their sophomore LP Iowa. Like a modern day KISS, they stormed the metal scene, bringing something new (and noisy) to the table. While a lot of old school metal fans dismissed them as simply being loud and aggressive for the sake of it, the band has stood the test of time.

Taylor, however, proved he was more than a one-trick pony when he took on the frontman role in a second band, Stone Sour. More accurately, Stone Sour was Taylor's first band, however while on hiatus, he would join up with Slipknot. The success of that band allowed him to pull double duty with the somewhat more melodic Stone Sour, and prove himself as a singer with true versatility.

Interestingly enough, for quite some time, Taylor would flirt with taking on frontman duties for a third band: Velvet Revolver. After the band parted ways with Scott Weiland, Taylor appeared to be the front runner, however it seemed lead guitarist Slash eventually nixxed the idea.
