10 Rock Stars Who Never Wanted To Be Famous

5. Slash - Guns N Roses

It's hard to imagine Slash anywhere else except onstage with a guitar. From the moment that he burst onto the scene as the guitarist in Guns N Roses, his trademark look made him a second frontman alongside Axl Rose, with his Les Paul being an extension of his body. His charisma seemed so natural that most people didn't even know that it was out of shyness.

Though he may be able to play like a madman, Slash was always a more reserved presence when he wasn't onstage. Whereas other people may have been concerned with trashing hotel rooms and being the leader of the party, Slash was normally the one who just wanted to rock onstage and then decompress once the show was over. Even the top hat served as a subtle way to hide himself from the his audience.

While the signature head-wear has become a signature of Slash's style, he has gone on record as saying that it acts almost like a wall between him and the crowd, looking to pull every part of his face down so he doesn't have to see the people in front of him. Despite being more than friendly faces in front of him, Slash is a guy who seems just as comfortable playing in a room by himself rather than filling a stadium full of people.
