2. Kanye West Interrupts Taylor Swift

The night was already tipped to be one of the most iconic in history as it featured a tribute to Michael Jackson and included performances from Green Day, Pink and Lady GaGa's first ever VMAs performance. What no one could have predicted, however, was that the most talked about moment of the night would involve an incident between Taylor Swift and Kanye West. Taylor had won the Best Female Video award for You Belong With Me, and while she delivered her acceptance speech Kanye West made his way onto the stage and took the microphone out of her hand. "Yo Taylor", he said, in what has since become one of the most iconic speeches in pop culture in the last 10 years, "I'm really happy for you and I'mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!" He then wandered offstage, leaving Taylor Swift speechless and clutching her award, and then they cut to a commercial break. Later in the ceremony Single Ladies won the award for Video of the Year, and Beyoncé cemented her place as the Queen of Everything by allowing Taylor Swift to come back onstage to finish the speech Kanye West had interrupted.
