http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nk97PAooe_w By the time Britney Spears gave her first performance at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, she'd already done a famously provocative photo-shoot with Rolling Stone magazine and dressed as a school girl for her debut music video, so people had high expectations for her VMAs debut. Britney came out in a tuxedo to perform a mashup of her then-new single Oops!...I Did It Again coupled with a pretty unexpected cover of The Rolling Stones' hit (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction. While she really delivered choreography-wise, the performance became famous not for Britney's moves but for the moment when she ripped off the tuxedo to reveal a nude bejewelled bikini underneath. If that wasn't enough to shock people, Britney upped the ante just a year later at the 2001 VMA Awards where she gave a steamy performance of I'm A Slave 4U which became as famous for Britney's skimpy outfit as it did for the wild animals she had onstage with her, including a python wrapped around her shoulders, a move which delighted her fan-base but failed to impress animal rights organisations.
