10 Song Collaborations That Happened By Accident

6. Kerry King's Bathroom Shredding Escapades - Goddamn Electric

Whenever you put on a Pantera track, there is absolutely nothing getting in the way of the listener and Dimebag Darrell's guitar. Darrell was one of the rare six-stringers who was able to create some of the most forceful sounds to come out of the instrument. At the same time, Darrell was more than welcome to relinquish duties to one of his heroes.

When the band played Ozzfest in 2000, the band found themselves sharing a bill with thrash metal legends Slayer. As the band were hanging out backstage, Darrell saw this as the perfect opportunity to jam with one of his biggest inspirations. In addition to trading licks, Darrell also managed to convince Kerry King to lay down a solo for the band's new song "Goddamn Electric." Without even a proper studio slot, King set up his amplifier in one of the backstage bathrooms and delivered the solo that ended up on the outro of the song.

Apparently Darrell was so pleased with the performance that he yelled from the rafters to not let King do it again, knowing that it was perfect the way it was. The setting might not have been the most ideal, but it just goes to show you that inspiration can come even in the most unlikely of places.
