10 Song Covers In Different Genres
8. Ace Of Spades - Hayseed Dixie
The first of a few entries on this list where narrowing it down to a single cover song feels a little unfair, Hayseed Dixie is a bluegrass band that has built its entire gimmick around doing covers of rock and metal tunes in their own style.
While there is a certain degree of comedy within the idea, the execution, the outfits and stage presence there is no denying that these Tennessee natives are very skilled at what they do. What's even more surprising is just how well a lot of the songs the cover translate over into the bluegrass genre with banjos and mandolins taking over from guitars and bass.
Describing themselves as "Rockgrass" and edging up on their twentieth year as a band, they have released well in excess of ten albums and show no signs of slowing down. Albums tend to be divided by which bands they are covering with AC/DC and Motorhead being the best recommendations for any interested parties.
If you ever want to experience how it sounds (and how surprisingly well it works) then look no further than their version of Motorhead's "Ace of Spades", but any cover at all will really do the job.
