The simplicity of the chorus of taking eight opposites; hot and cold, black and white etc. makes for a fun tune that has many elements to it, arguably a very intricate track for a popstar, with verses, a pre-chorus, chorus, and even a breakdown. The video is very fun as well, with zebras, big bows, angry brides and much more, it helped Hot and Cold concrete itself as one of those songs we just know. Alongside the video, it is simply everywhere. Appearing in movies such as The Proposal and The Ugly Truth, theres also a Muppets version when Perry sings to Elmo, its a favourite on the Just Dance games, and theres even a recorded Simlish version for The Sims 2 expansions. And that's terrifying.
