10 Songs That Got Their Own Sequels

3. Steven - Alice Cooper

Most Alice Cooper fans look to the album Welcome to my Nightmare as the moment where everything changed. Aside from the lavish production and fantastic songs, this was the moment where Alice confirmed that he could survive as a creative entity all his own, no longer tied down to the rest of the band. Even when the more Broadway style getup faded, Cooper hadn't exhausted the inner child he created for the project.

Being one of the creepiest songs on the entire record, Steven was originally just a metaphor for the innocent child in all of us, while also having quite the shelf life as time has gone on. Although he had appeared sporadically in Cooper tunes throughout the years, the biggest fake out came with Along Came a Spider from 2010.

Operating as a macabre rock opera, this picks up where Steven left off, trapped in an insane asylum with no hope for survival. While it's never fully revealed, this follows his journey to build an all-encompassing human spider, using the various limbs of people to make the eight legs that he needs. Despite being a little bit on the nose for the subject matter, Steve still feels right at home in this kind of story. After all, this is the kind of childish game you'd play in your bedroom, only now with more bloodthirsty stakes.
