10 Songs That Tricked You Into Thinking They're Happy

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7R7q1lSZfs Essentially a song about pleasure, you could argue as to why this song is included in this list. This jolly tune would sit perfectly on a sunny afternoon as you were laying on the grass, enjoying the sun. However, there have been many theories that the 'golden brown' reference in the song relates to heroin, with golden brown being the colour of the drug. This adds a rather dark tone to an otherwise delightful song. The band themselves claim that the song is deliberate in its confusion and allows the listener to hear what they want to hear. However, it is widely believe to be a song about the two greatest pleasures in the songwriter's life... heroin and a girl.
"Two distant lands, takes both my hands, Never a frown, with golden brown..."
