10 Songs That Would've Fit Perfectly On The Next Beatles Album (Had They Not Split)

8. All Things Must Pass - George Harrison

It's really a shame that the Beatles broke up just when George Harrison was coming into own as a songwriter. While Lennon and McCartney were having their own creative squabbles, Harrison's songs like "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and "Something" became the highlights of the later period of the band's career.

Most of Harrison's rejected Beatles cuts got stockpiled on his first solo album, but it's almost a crime that "All Things Must Pass" never ended up on a proper Beatles release. The melody on this track has some of the greatest phrasing on Harrison's solo debut as well as a surging energy while still being in a relatively slow tempo.

Given the band's break from making music, this song could be a good way to start off the record, almost as if the fans are being assured that the dark times of business spats were now officially over. There'e a subsect of fans who absolutely adore the Phil Spector-produced version of this song, but the thought of Paul and John adding their signature vocals to back this track almost feels euphoric. Harrison may have had to deal with being 3rd in line as a songwriter, but songs like these show just how good he was at making people's hearts dance with his melodic sensibilities.
