10 Songs That Would've Fit Perfectly On The Next Beatles Album (Had They Not Split)

4. Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey - Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney was always known as the great musical visionary of the Beatles. John Lennon may have seemed like the pure artist of the group, but McCartney's way of looking at song composition led the band into far-off directions that were never thought to be possible.

Given the band's earlier flirtations with conceptual rock on Sgt. Pepper, it would only make sense for the band to give it another go a few years down the line. This gem from McCartney's Ram album has a great sound that would have made for some exquisite efforts from his former bandmates. The way that McCartney changes his vocal delivery for a more snide delivery is fantastic, yet the idea of Lennon singing that bit sounds so much better than the actual song we have with us.

The song could also be a showcase for Starr, with just the right drum fills to connect each of these sections together. Even though the song ends with a wordless melodic vamp, it would also be interesting to hear what Lennon or Harrison might have done to fill out the lyrics for the section. While the other band members felt stifled by Paul's more controlling hand on Sgt. Pepper's, this is an example of a conceptual piece that all of the band members could contribute to in a more equal way.
