10 Songs To Celebrate Your Freedom After A Break Up

5. Love Yourself - Justin Bieber

”My Mama don’t like you and she likes everyone”. Who knew that the Biebs co-writing with Ed Sheeran could deliver such a sick burn? From Justin Bieber’s fourth studio album, Purpose, comes the addictive acoustic pop phenomenon that is Love Yourself.

This absolute bop spent a whopping (non-consecutive) 24 weeks on the Billboard top 10 and it’s clear why. The song is a relatable ”screw yourself” message to an ex who cares far more about themselves than anyone else. Compared to the other electro-dance hits that graced the album, Love Yourself is pared back with just Biebs, a guitar and some super cool trumpets.

This one is for that ex that used you to get themselves noticed, the one who couldn’t stop checking themselves in the mirror. It’s basically the Gen Z, gender-switched version of Carly Simon’s You’re So Vain. If you’re really feeling angry, you can replace the word ”love” with something a little more vicious (see Halsey’s version).
