8. Me Against The Music - Madonna & Britney Spears
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWUhAlm77dw Bringing together the Queen and Princess of contemporary pop was a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Britney was in her prime and Madonna was still enjoying continued success around the world. It was a match made in Top 40 heaven if there ever was one. Both of these pop superstars have left their marks on the music industry. They have shocked, provoked and conquered just about everyone and everything in their unparalleled careers. This song has place in pop canon and is remembered for its distinctive early 2000s sound and groundbreaking music video. The song was awarded the "Hot Dance Single Of The Year" at the 2004 Billboard Music awards and was considered a strong addition to Britney's "In The Zone" album. Although some critics described the track as lacklustre, looking back a collaboration of this scale hasn't been seen in years. Seemingly unbelievably, the song was kept off number one by Busted's "Crashed The Wedding". Does anyone remember that tune nowadays? The song has also gathered a cultural interest, with the concept of the music video being featured in an episode of Glee. Britney Spears herself makes an appearance in the episode, which was dedicated to her successful career in pop. The song has had a huge impact, but once again had to settle for number 2.
