2. Wonderwall - Oasis
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hzrDeceEKc An instant classic and staple house party track, Wonderwall still didn't manage to do what so many others have done by scoring that coveted number 1. Oasis were a breakout band in their prime and were widely pitched as the 1990s version of The Beatles. This tune was released in 1995 and was able to hit number 1 in the US and Australia, but not in their native Britain. There it was left to settle for a disappointing number 2. The song has been showered in awards and commendation, most notably receiving Best Video at the Brits in 1996. Since that win, the video has been viewed a massive 95 million times on YouTube, years after the songs release. In Australia, it was voted the number 1 song out of the last 20 years of the Triple J Hot 100 - a countdown that defines many a person's Australia Day. This is a huge deal as the likes of "Thrift Shop" and "Love Me Again" have topped that countdown in recent years too. As of November 2012, the song has cracked the magic million, which is very impressive for a CD single of the 1990s. If you are a budding guitarist, Wonderwall is going to be one of the first tracks you'll want to learn. It is one of those must-know intros and more importantly, no one will believe you aren't playing a number one.
