When it comes to song-writing, violent rhetoric is a common thing. Writing allows musicians to explore violent situations, scenarios (and sometimes even fantasies) that they'd never be able to or want to experience in reality. At this point it's pretty unsurprising to hear musicians sing of unhinged characters and even threaten other musicians with assault €“ generally an empty attempt at displaying power. But one thing that artist's also love to do is to take inspiration from reality. Though this often manifests itself in songs that are autobiographical, it can also come from a much darker place. With crime so frequent in the real world, it's practically inevitable that the two would overlap, resulting in some seriously sinister and disturbing songs.
