5. Bon Jovi August 7, 4:15
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TEKKus_uek Just because Bon Jovi are primarily known for stadium anthems and power ballads doesn't mean they're not afraid to get a little bit morbid. August, 7 4:15 is from the band's 1997 album Destination Anywhere and was inspired by the death of Katherine Korzillius, the daughter of Bon Jovi's then-manager. The song takes its title from the day on which young Katherine was tragically killed. Six-year-old Katherine was travelling with her mother and brother when she was dropped off at the mailbox about an eighth of a mile away from home so that she could collect the post and then walk back. After an hour of waiting for Katherine to return, her mother drove to the mailbox and couldn't find her. When she looked around the neighbourhood, however, her body was located. It's believed that Katherine was abducted, taken into a van, murdered and then dumped back out onto the road, though as of yet the murderer has not been found. The gruesome song details the events of that day, frequently repeating the date and time as the narrator struggles to come to terms with the horrendous crime.
