10 Songs You Need To Add To Your Halloween 2020 Playlist

6. Gas Panic! - Oasis

Oasis is not really a band that is known for their creepier sounding songs. Sure, plenty of classics have come off the strength of Definitely Maybe and What's the Story Morning Glory?, but there has never been an Oasis track that has been described as chilling or off-putting (with the exception of Be Here Now maybe). However, once the band reassembled after a few years on hiatus, their moody side came out to play.

For the most part, Standing on the Shoulder of Giants is one of the band's more psychedelic albums, but Gas Panic! really belongs in a world by itself. Opening with an off-kilter chord progression, this song slowly takes its time seeping into your brain before Liam Gallagher starts intoning about a ghost creeping into his room. What unfolds is the closest the band has come to depicting a panic attack, as the sound slowly builds up before Liam sings "Panic is on the way."

From there, we are dropped into the musical abyss below, uncertain of where we'll land until Noel comes back in with his trademark guitar squeals. Oasis may have just been looking to write some feel good tunes back in the day, but Gas Panic! is one of the most complete experiences they ever put to tape.
