10 Terrible Songs By Great Artists

1. Love Song - Alice in Chains

Whenever metal fans start to hear about an Alice in Chains Unplugged set, that should be fantastic news. Ever since striking a bit of a weird note in the '90s, both SAP and Jar of Flies are both indications of how metal can stay heavy on acoustics, with tracks like Brother and No Excuses having the same melancholy as anything that came off of Dirt. Since it's only an EP though, why the hell did we have to suffer through something like Love Song?

Arriving right at the tail end of SAP, this is almost like a punishment for enjoying the music, with most of the instrumentation feeling like it's intentionally being played half-assed. Though it's anyone's guess what the lyrics of this song actually are, the track just divulges into complete noisy nonsense, and not in the Slayer way where the blasts of noise add to the experience.

Though Alice have been known to get a bit trippy and even psychedelic in some of their tunes, this is a tonal car crash when you consider something as low tempo and beautiful as Got Me Wrong was just 3 tracks ago. Considering that most of this was assembled by every member of the group picking up a different instrument, this song alone serves as a public service announcement for bands to stick with what they know.
