10 Terrible Songs That ALMOST RUINED Great Albums

5. Seamus - Pink Floyd

It seemed that things were finally starting to look up for Pink Floyd around the turn of the '70s. After the manic episodes of Syd Barrett left them in a disillusioned state, Meddle was the beginning of something far more ambitious, with songs like Echoes being the blueprint for the prog rock odysseys that would be getting underway soon afterwards. So...why the hell would you put a blues tune in between everything?

While songs like A Pillow of Winds and San Tropez definitely had a mellower vibe on the record, Seamus is one of the least necessary Pink Floyd songs in their canon, with a recording method that was far too weird for its own good. Instead of just kicking back with a typical blues jam, the band had the bright idea of bringing a dog into the studio to listen to the recording and record its reactions.

As soon as you think you might be getting somewhere with the guitar licks, you get these random barks in the middle of everything, which takes you out of the music in the worst way possible. Compared to the trippy stuff that we are used to on Pink Floyd albums, this is where things just get a little too weird to be taken seriously anymore. Contrary to the pup in the song, this song is not a good boy.
