10 Terrible Songs That ALMOST RUINED Great Albums

3. Living Loving Maid - Led Zeppelin

It's pretty much mandatory listening for any rock musician to listen to Led Zeppelin II at least once in their life. Going past the blues foundation that they started with, Led Zeppelin's second step up to the plate became the foundation for what hard rock would become in the '70s, featuring amazing riffs like Whole Lotta Love, Moby Dick, and Ramble On. When you have these odysseys in your ranks though, why would you go back to one of the least necessary pieces of your catalog?

In the grand scheme of things, there's nothing too reprehensible about Living Loving Maid, being just the standard bit of bluesy hard rock that Zeppelin were known for. Compared to the rest of the record though, this feels like it should have been either a B-side or just something to jam in between takes rather than a proper part of the record, as Robert Plant spits out standard cliches about his woman who did him wrong.

As much as the song is passable for fans, this is another case where the band don't even take too kindly to their own song, with Jimmy Page calling it his least favorite Led Zeppelin song. While Living Loving Maid is normally put together with Heartbreaker on the radio and in playlists, something tells me that the only reason they're sandwiched together is so people actually remember this tune.
