As mentioned previously, the wait for new System Of A Down material has been lengthy and arduous. Though its great that the band is still occasionally performing live, its no secret that the sole reason the band hasn't recorded anything new is because of Serj. Dont get me wrong, Serj is an amazingly talented man, and hes produced some legitimately fantastic solo material (have you heard his stunning orchestral project Orca?) but its hard not to occasionally find yourself wondering... will we ever hear a new System song? Serjs response to the lack of new System material has been to state that inspiration has to strike naturally, but at times it seems as if hes reluctant to give inspiration a chance. Come on, Serj what harm is a couple days in the studio going to do? Give the band an actual chance to come up with something! Interestingly, Serj recently stated in an interview with Rolling Stone that the band may consider recording new material after the 2015 Wake Up The Souls Tour comes to an end.
