4. Motörhead Played Almost 3000 Gigs Across 40 Years & Produced 22 Studio Albums
1975 was when the band first stepped on stage, positively owning the night as support for Greenslade at the Chalkfarm Roundhouse in London. Lemmy and co. then went on to revolutionise not only rock n' roll by injecting a suitable amount of anarchic punk attitude to proceedings, but alongside guys like Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi, helped prove that the working man could truly succeed when it came to getting their music out there. Kilmister may have found initial popularity with spectral rock-wizards Hawkwind, but it was through Motörhead that everything about his stature truly caught on in a big way. Their early gigs even included a raucous version of Hawkwind's anthemic Silver Machine, which Lemmy would eventually reunite to play with the band multiple times over the years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-PFWBzrbs8
