10 Things You Should Know About The Guns N' Roses Reunion
7. Izzy Stradlin May Turn Up As A "Special Guest"
Richard Fortus will be your full time Guns N' Roses rhythm guitarist in 2016, just like he has been every year since 2002. And for good reason. Fortus, also known for his time with Psychedelic Furs and The Dead Daisies, is a fantastic player both in the studio and live, with great stage presence, and he fits right in with the Guns sound and vibe. While it hasn't officially been announced, Fortus was talking about 2016 being a huge year for Guns way before almost anyone else was, and it was recently announced that he, along with Dizzy Reed, had to leave The Dead Daisies to focus on a "huge project" later this year. Reed's presence in Guns N' Roses is a given, since he has been in the band since 1990, but leaving the Daisies means Fortus is no doubt still in GN'R as well. That means founding guitarist Izzy Stradlin is not part of the reunion - and while some may call for heads to roll, there's two sides to this. Stradlin was a huge part of the Guns sound, and along with Rose, was the driving songwriter in the outfit. However, he walked away from it all in 1991, and while he has frequently joined Guns N' Roses on stage over the years for a couple of songs, he doesn't seem at all interested in being back in the band full time. Stradlin, along with Reed and Rose, also declined to turn up to the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame ceremony when the band was inducted. So - he may turn up as a special guest at a few shows. This is actually pretty likely - but he won't be doing it full time.
