10 Times People Died Inside During Awkward Interviews

Depending on who you ask, Courtney Love might have ruined any number of things ranging from big-budget films and potentially good albums to entire cultural scenes.

One of her finest destructive moments came when she crashed a Madonna interview during the 1995 MTV Video Music Awards. The fun really starts while interviewer Kurt Loder goes through the usual pedestrian celebrity interview questions and you can start hearing what sounds like a drunken scream for attention off-camera.

Then finally, when a projectile comes flying at Madge's head, Loder is forced to say acknowledge Love down on the street. When Madonna pleads with him not to let her on to the platform, he clearly can't resist the views the coming trainwreck would ensure his dull award show coverage. Madonna gets it pretty spot on when she says "Courtney Love is in dire need of attention right now."

Love then proceeds to fumble around before grabbing a microphone. At this point, even Loder crosses his arms and dies a little bit inside as she comments on Madonna's love life, saying: "You don't even do rock stars anymore!"

"You, as Michael Stipe would say, dip into the population," she says throwing the R.E.M. frontman under the bus in his absence.

When Madonna exits, Love yells after her. "Are you bummed?"
