10 Underrated Alternative Pop Music Singers Of The 2010s

8. Sub Urban

While it may be a slight stretch, Sub Urban (aka Daniel Virgil Maisonneuve) can be classified as a 2010s artist, thanks to the release of his hit song Cradles at the start of 2019. The song's haunting melody and eerie music video proved a hit with listeners as it quickly became an internet sensation.

Sub Urban's style is occasionally compared to Billie Eilish's (given their simultaneous rise), yet his music still retains a haunting aesthetic, while Eilish has embarked on other genres. Though the similarities may have led some to mistakenly label him as a wannabe, Sub Urban's unique vision proves that he is far from imitating anyone else.

Nevertheless, while it remains uncertain where exactly Sub Urban's career trajectory will take him, he certainly deserves the same level of recognition as Eilish. With a full album released just last year collaborating with artists like BENEE and Bella Poarch, the future for this alt-pop star seems promising. We're just hoping he becomes more than a TikTok ringtone.
