10 Underrated Alternative Pop Music Singers Of The 2010s

5. Troye Sivan

At the expense at some debate, Troye Sivan's classification as an alternative pop artist is justified by his experimental production choices and not-quite-mainstream themes tackling identity and queer experiences.

Since his debut album, The Blue Neighbourhood, in 2015, Sivan has maintained a consistent presence in the music industry, releasing single after EP. With his relentless dedication, you would expect Troye Sivan to emerge as a frontrunner among male pop artists, yet each release finds relatively the same moderate-ish success.

With noteworthy collaborations with powerhouses like Ariana Grande and producer Mark Ronson, Troye Sivan has absolutely thrived on his own terms, backed by a dedicated fan base; however, he has yet to achieve that chart-topping status.

Will Troye Sivan eventually receive the level of mainstream success of the likes of Harry Styles or Justin Bieber? We're certainly holding onto that well-deserved hope.
