10 Underrated Hard Rock Albums Of The 1980s
6. Lita Ford - Lita
After initial success with all-female band The Runaways, singer and guitarist Lita Ford embarked on a solo career in the early 80s. While not quite having the same success as other female artists like Joan Jett and Pat Benatar, the singer still produced some great music, namely on her third album Lita.
Her first effort under the supervision of Sharon Osbourne, Ford produced some solid anthems on the album, along with a couple of great ballads. Most notably, her collaboration with Ozzy Osbourne on duet 'If I Close My Eyes Forever' is an emotionally charged song, with some wonderful acoustic tones. The other big hit, 'Kiss Me Deadly', is Ford showing off more of her vocal range and is quite sassy in parts, really hitting the harder side of the genre.
It's an album which really highlights the ability of female talent in the world of rock during that era.
