10 Underrated Linkin Park Songs

7. Lies Greed Misery - Living Things

In the wake of the massive rollout for A Thousand Suns, it feels like Linkin Park were trying to scale things back on Living Things. Considering how much experimentation went on on the last record, this feels like a soft reboot to reel in the fans that were turned off by the big bad concept album that came before. Just because this was back to basics doesn't mean that they'd forgotten how to switch it up every now and again.

By far the angriest song on the record, Lies Greed Misery is one of the first perfect marriages between metal and electronic music that there is, with the guitar being fed through a lot more effects and sounding like a robot that somehow just regained its own humanity. When you listen to Chester's vocals, it almost sounds like he's going for a dirty punk approach, having a lot more attitude and letting everything trail off before the scream of "YOU DID IT TO YOURSELF."

As time has gone on, this is also aging pretty gracefully, having the same kind of modern sounding production that could pass for being on rock radio today. In fact, this would be a good model for the more recent metal bands that have decided to dip their feet into hard rock. If anything, this song walked so a band like Bring Me the Horizon could run right now.
