10 Worst Closing Songs On Great Albums
4. Love is Dangerous - Blink 182
There are still those few Blink 182 fans that still refuse to think of Neighborhoods as a major entry in the band's catalog. While it was supposed to be the big reunion that brought the classic lineup back together again, a lot of fans weren't budging and considered this just a Tom DeLonge solo project with the rest of Blink as guest musicians. That's nowhere close to the truth...but you can at least see where they're coming from on Love is Dangerous.
When you're listening to the rest of this album, you can really hear the band twisting their sound around and writing more thoughtful material like on Ghost on the Dance Floor. There are even moments where they tap back into their punk roots on Up All Night and Hearts All Gone, but you won't be seeing any of that energy here on Love is Dangerous, which kind of leaves the album off by fading away into the distance.
For all of the chaotic recording sessions that happened during this album, this is the one moment where you can really hear that disconnect, almost sounding like the song is stitched together from different takes and just thrown together to make it sound like it's a finished song. Compared to the new chapter that the rest of this album had promised us, Love is Dangerous feels like the one moment where things were starting to go backwards. As far as the haters were concerned, this really was the moment where Blink was just Angels and Airwaves with all of the members of Blink involved.
