10 Worst Final Albums In Rock

4. Cut the Crap - The Clash

For a brief few years, it seemed like the Clash really lived up to their title of the Only Band That Matters. With Mick Jones and Joe Strummer playing off each other to absolute perfection, the sounds of albums like London Calling and Combat Rock made rock and roll really feel like it could shake the world. Once you break up the magic though, that normally spells disaster right out of the gate.

After Strummer kicked Jones out of the band for playing into the rock star lifestyle, the dramatic reinvention of the Clash resulted in one of the most useless albums in existence on Cut the Crap. Compared to the call to arms that came from every other Clash release, these songs sounded like Strummer putting his all into just sounding rebellious. It also doesn't help that the record is mixed like trash, with a drum machine being at the forefront of every mix and every chorus chanted until it sticks in your head (and not in a good way).

Even though there is one great song to be found in This Is England, the downtrodden lyrics of the tune just sound like Strummer himself lamenting the loss of his punk rock comrades. While the tale of the rock and roll outlaw can't last forever, you'd think it would have a better ending than this.
