10 Worst Hard Rock Albums Ever Made
8. Chinese Democracy - Guns N Roses
At the start of the '90s, there was no one who could touch Guns N Roses in the rock scene. For as much as their hair metal style was starting to fall by the wayside, their one-two punch of the Use Your Illusion albums sent fans into an absolute frenzy once the band embarked on the tour. However, things were looking a lot worse when the band were finally allowed to rest.
Wanting to go back into the studio to make an even more ambitious record, Axl Rose's iron hand ended up being the final straw for the rest of the band, who ended up quitting in protest. Since Rose owned the rights to the name, he proceeded to tinker with this new project off and on until we finally got Chinese Democracy in 2008.
Though none of the songs are mind-numbingly bad, the fact that these lackluster cuts are linked to the name Guns N Roses has all but tarnished the band's legacy. Also it didn't help matters that Axl spent upwards of $13 million dollars in order to produce it, which spelled nothing but diminishing returns for rock's biggest diva.
The original Guns N Roses might be back on better terms these days, but there's no arguing that this record belongs at the bottom of the totem pole.
