10 Worst Hard Rock Cover Songs Of All Time
4. Lord of the Thighs - Glenn Danzig
Ever since the '00s, it seems like Glenn Danzig has firmly checked out of the punk world. While he stills fronts his solo band along with the Misfits from time to time, he seems more concerned with cashing checks than he is maintaining any interesting vocal style. It's sad to see punk's greatest voice phone it in, but no one expected something as reprehensible as this.
Trying to get back to why he loved heavy rock in the first place, Skeletons turned into one of Danzig's most disgraceful efforts, with songs that felt toothless and unfinished once you listened. Along with being mixed like trash, Danzig's take on Aerosmith's Lord of the Thighs sounds like his backing group is just running through the track for the first time, with Glenn himself almost unable to perform the song properly with all of the grunting he has to do in between verses.
Even with all that stacked against it, it only got worse from there, with Danzig's take on Elvis songs this year being one of the last gasps from what used to be punk's most aggressive frontman. However, when it comes down to pure execution, Lord of the Thighs was something that we all thought Glenn could do justice to, but ended up sounding like nothing more than the hollow shell of a singer.
