10 Worst Hard Rock Cover Songs Of All Time
2. Faith - Limp Bizkit
There's nothing wrong with a good joke cover from time to time. From the Red Hot Chili Peppers to The Beatles, there have been plenty of bands who cover songs they have no business covering just to get a laugh out of their audience. On the other hand, making a joke cover and trying to pass it off as something worthwhile is where you start to draw the line.
When Limp Bizkit started gaining traction in the late '90s, most of their aggression seemed pretty harmless on the surface. There may have been room to experiment, but was there anyone really aching for the guy in the backwards hat to take on George Michael's Faith? The lackluster delivery from Fred Durst sounds like he's at least aware of the bad job he's doing, but it doesn't make it any fun to listen to. If anything, Durst comes off more like a random frat bro that suddenly decided to have a turn on the mic for karaoke.
Limp Bizkit may have had a few stinkers in their catalog, but this is where the scales tipped to them just seeming like a group of bad musicians. For a song centered around having faith in love, every single one of these screamed choruses makes a decent argument for hatred.
