10 WORST Metallica Songs Ever

7. All Within My Hands - St. Anger

What...you thought we were just going to sidestep St. Anger? Ever since it was first released, the entire Metallica fanbase have lined up to bash this album , from the relentless snare hits to the expulsion of any solo work. Even though this album has been torn to shreds a billion times...it's not like their arguments are unfounded.

After working your way through one of the most ear-fatiguing listens in metal music, "All Within My Hands" comes on and puts the finishing touches on this album. With the detuned guitar providing the backbeat, the entire backing track feels like something you'd find on a shoddy nu metal album as opposed to a release from one of the greatest metal acts in the world. Though the song is what you'd come to expect from St. Anger, we reach a new level of pain once we hit the outro.

With Lars still pounding away behind the kit, James lets out the mantra of "Kill!" in rapid succession, almost as if he wants out of this bitter noise the band is making. It's even more of a shame because the acoustic version the band eventually released ended up being miles better than the version on the record. It's awesome that the band was able to work out their anger, but this song is still on the wrong side of listenable.
